📖 Instruction for Use

Dosage

• Standard Adult Dosage: 10ml taken 3-4 times daily

⏱️ Forget/Missed Doses

If you miss a dose of SUCRIDEN-O:

• If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule
• Do not double the dose to make up for a forgotten dose
• If you consistently miss doses, discuss with your healthcare provider about adjusting your dosing schedule

🧬 How this Works

SUCRIDEN-O works through the complementary actions of its two active components:

1. Sucralfate (1000mg per 10ml):
   • A complex salt of aluminum hydroxide and sulfated sucrose
   • In the acidic environment of the stomach (pH <4), sucralfate reacts with hydrochloric acid to form a paste-like substance
   • This paste adheres selectively to damaged areas of the mucosa, forming a protective barrier
   • The barrier shields the ulcer or erosion from further damage by gastric acid, pepsin, and bile salts
   • Sucralfate also:
     • Adsorbs pepsin and bile acids, decreasing their damaging effects
     • Stimulates local production of prostaglandins which enhance mucosal defense
     • Binds to growth factors, preventing their degradation and promoting tissue repair
     • Has minimal systemic absorption (less than 5%)
2. Oxetacaine (20mg per 10ml):
   • A potent local anesthetic that works directly on the gastric and esophageal mucosa
   • Blocks nerve impulses by decreasing cell membrane permeability to sodium ions
   • Provides rapid pain relief by numbing the affected areas
   • Inhibits gastric acid secretion by suppressing gastrin release
   • Creates a soothing effect on inflamed tissues
   • Acts quickly to reduce pain and discomfort while sucralfate begins its protective action

The combination provides both immediate symptomatic relief (through oxetacaine) and promotes healing of the damaged tissue (through sucralfate's protective and healing properties).

⚠️ Side Effects

🔁 Over Doses

Symptoms of Overdose

• Severe constipation
• Abdominal discomfort
• Extreme drowsiness or confusion
• Nausea and vomiting
• CNS depression (with oxetacaine)

Action in Case of Overdose

• Seek immediate medical attention
• Do not attempt to induce vomiting unless directed by medical professionals
• Take the medication bottle along for identification

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
